THE VERDICT
Timon is a travel-focused money app with multiple USD and naira cards, stablecoin funding, and local payouts in one place. But it only holds USD, charges on every currency conversion, and puts no cap on bank transfer funding fees. This review breaks down what Timon offers, what it costs, and how Pouchers compares as an alternative.
How We Evaluated
We reviewed information from Timon's official website, help center articles, app store listings, and official social media accounts. All figures and features were checked in September 2026.

Timon's strengths
A wide choice of cards. Timon offers several USD cards across Visa and Mastercard, with local or US billing addresses, plus NGN Verve cards.
Travel tools in one app. Built-in eSIM data gives you mobile coverage in countries around the world, so you can stay connected abroad without buying a local SIM.
Local payouts across several regions. Send money through bank transfers, mobile money, PIX, UPI, SEPA, and Faster Payments, with fees starting from $1.
Three stablecoins supported. Fund your USD wallet with USDC, USDT, or PYUSD.
Where Timon falls short
No cap on bank transfer funding. ACH and FedWire deposits cost 0.8% with a $2 minimum and no maximum, so the fee keeps rising with the deposit: $40 on a $5,000 deposit.
No EUR or GBP receiving accounts. Timon's wallet funding options cover USD only, by ACH, FedWire, or stablecoins, with no EUR or GBP accounts for receiving payments.
Currency conversion carries a fee. Every conversion between currencies costs a fee on top of the market rate, including moving naira into a USD wallet or card. On smaller amounts, this adds up: $0.50 on a $20 conversion is 2.5%.
Card fees add up. Every new card costs $5 or more to create. Timon's naira cards then charge ₦100 every time you fund them, on top of a fee on every payment, including a flat ₦1,000 on subscriptions like Netflix and Spotify.
How Pouchers Compares
If you're considering Timon, Pouchers lets you receive, convert, and spend with fewer fees.
